The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 3,394 cases of coronavirus across the state Thursday with 38 new deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department indicated there was a single case reported Thursday bringing the case total to 2,466. 9 cases are active and there is 1 person hospitalized with no new deaths. There were 5 new cases of COVID-19 reported Thursday in Knox County Indiana bringing the case total there to 3,694 with no new deaths. Overall there has been 1,331,848 cases of the disease across Illinois with 21,927 deaths since the pandemic began. Over 9.1 million vaccines have now been administered across the state since the vaccine rollout got underway and over 107,000 people received shots at sites across the state Thursday. The IDPH is working to get more citizens vaccinated through various methods. The latest figures show that just over 21% of the Lawrence County population has been fully vaccinated. That compares to over 31% of the entire Illinois state population now fully vaccinated.
