Charles ‘Chuck’ M. Whitson, age 85, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on March 08, 1936 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of Raymond and Pansy (Bowells) Whitson. He married Linda Shaw on August 16, 1963, and she survives.
Chuck was a 1954 graduate of LHS and served his country in the United States Army. He worked for the United States Postal Service. His memberships included the Elks and the Harmony Society.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two children, Cathy and Jason Whitson; three sisters, Ramona Strange, Winona Strange and Darlene Fisher; and one brother, Glen Whitson.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; one son, Charles Todd Whitson; and one grandson, Brandon Shoulders.
There will be no formal services conducted. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
