The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the entire WAKO listening area from 1 p.m. Central Time Wednesday until Thursday afternoon. It is anticipated that several rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall will develop later this afternoon with 2 to 3 inches of precipitation possible with some locally higher amounts. This type of extensive rainfall can result in flash flooding with excessive water runoff resulting in flooding of rivers, streams and creeks.
