Solid starting pitching by Milwaukee starter Brandon Woodruff and the bullpen led to a 6-0 Brewer win over the Chicago Cubs 6-0 Sunday in the series finale at Wrigley Field. The Brewers scored the only run they would need in the first to lead 1-0 until they cemented the game with 5 runs in the top of the 9th. Jake Arrieta took the loss for the Cubs, who could manage only 4 hits on the day. Milwaukee wins 2 out of 3 in the series. The Cubs fall to 10-11 overall and will look to get back on the winning track Monday night when they open a four game series in Atlanta against the Braves.
