Veronica D. Kirkwood, age 67, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born on July 01, 1953 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of Victor V. and Patty Y. (Condiff) Volkman. She married Jerry Kirkwood on September 02, 1972, and he survives.
Veronica was a 1971 graduate of Lawrenceville High School and attended Vincennes University, where she was a cheerleader and member of Beta Xi Omega. Along with her husband, Jerry, they owned and operated J.V. Pools & Spas, Inc. for 36 years. She was a member of the Lawrenceville Free Methodist Church, as well as the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, where she served as a board member. She enjoyed traveling, swimming, shopping, and being a Mimi to her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry; one son, Tyler Kirkwood and wife, Savannah of Lawrenceville, Illinois; two brothers, Victor Volkman and wife, Patricia of St. Francisville, Illinois and Roger Volkman and wife, Rita of Chauncey, Illinois; and two grandchildren, Maxi Kirkwood and Fitzgerald Kirkwood.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 1:00 PM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois, and may be viewed with the following link: https://www.facebook.com/emmonsmaceysteffey. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
