The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 3,581 new confirmed cases of coronavirus across the state Thursday with 40 more deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department indicates there were only 2 new cases locally Thursday upping the county total to 2,453. No new deaths reported. There were 6 new cases reported Thursday in Knox County Indiana with the total there rising to 3,653 with no new deaths. Overall since the pandemic began, there have now been 1,292,515 cases of the disease with 21,609 deaths in Illinois. A total of 7,612,405 vaccinations have occured across the state since the vaccine rollout with over 129,000 people receiving shots Thursday. The LCHD is welcoming over age 18 walkins and appointments to a Moderna 1st and 2nd dose vaccination Clinic Friday the 16th from 12 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at their main office on Country Club Road on US 50 west of Lawrenceville. Appointments can be made via the LCHD Facebook page and website. The Knox County Indiana Health Department will host a Max Vaccination Clinic Sunday from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m. Eastern Time at the Community United Methodist Church on Hart Street in Vincennes. Anyone over 18 is eligible for vaccination and no appointments are neccessary with walkins welcome.
