The Bridgeport City Council has set the City Wide Cleanup date for Monday May 3rd. Residents can visit the City of Bridgeport Facebook Page for items that will and will not be taken on that day or call City Hall during regular business hours. The council did approve the Fiscal year 2021-22 Draft Budget which contains money for new city pickups, a new police car, lighting upgrades at Lanterman Park and city water tower cleaning and maintenence. Police Chief Danny Ash reported that part-time officers are now on duty for the city and City Superintendent Shannon Selby reported his department has been busy with assorted water leaks throughout the city and with replacement of the pumps damaged by lightning at the city lift station.  The meeting was the last for Mayor Michael Crask, who did not run for re-election. He reflected on his 4 year term as mayor and wished luck to councilman Tyler Griffin who will replace him formally next month.
