SALUKIS SCORE LATE TO NIP INDIANS

salukbluei-3

Andrew Maxfield hit Damian Plummer with a TD pass with less than a minute to go and the Saluki defense held off a last second Indian drive Saturday to propel the Red Hill Football Salukis to a 20-16 win over the Lawrenceville Indians at Bridgeport. The win was the third in a row for the 3-1 Salukis and the loss kept the Indians winless at 0-4. The Tribe had taken a 16-14 lead on a Brenyn Winningham TD run with less than 2 minutes to play, but the Salukis moved the ball steadily downfield via the pass to the winning score.  The win returns the annual Oilfield Trophy back to the Salukis. Both teams are back in action Friday-the Indians will host Oblong in non-conference play at Ed Loeb Field while the Salukis travel to Sinclair-Vidoni Field in Casey to face the Casey-Westfield Warriors.
