The Illinois Department of Public Health reports there were 10,576 new cases of coronavirus reported this past weekend across the state with 50 additional deaths. There were no new cases reported in Lawrence County Friday by the LCHD. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been a total of 1,279,772 cases of the disease statewide with 21,505 deaths. There were 4 new cases of COVID-19 in Knox County Indiana Sunday. Over 7 million vaccinations have occured across Illinois as of late last week with over 131, 00 people being vaccinated Friday alone. Beginning Monday, April 12th, anyone who is 16 and over in Illinois is eligible for vaccination. The Lawrence County Health Department is holding a single shot Johnson and Johnson and first dose Moderna vaccination clinic Monday the 12th from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the LCHD Main office on U.S 50 West of Lawrenceville at Country Club Road.
