The Lawrenceville City Council met in regular session Thursday night and took actions regarding water. They approved a new water rate ordinance reflecting the mandated increase necessary to pay off the loan for the city water treatment plant. Also approved upon recommendation of the finance committee was an ordinance amending the water surcharges within the Village Estates Subdivision. After lengthy discussion, it was decided by the council to seek expert opinions on the repairs needed at the City Park Pool. A report is anticipated at the May meeting. They did approve the reappointment of Donn Hammer to the Police Pension Board and presented WAKO News and Sports Director Steve Anderson with a Key to the City for his almost 30 years of broadcasting service to the community.
