The Illinois Department of Public Health Thursday reported 3,739 new cases of coronavirus across the state with 34 additional deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department reported 2 positive cases Thursday bringing the county total to 2,450. There were no new deaths. There were 5 new cases reported in Knox County Indiana Thursday raising the total there to 3,268 with 1 new death upping the total to 89. Since the pandemic began in Illinois, there have been 1,269,196 cases with 21,457 deaths. A total of 6,707,183 vaccinations have occured since the rollout began across Illinois with a record 154,201 people vaccinated Thursday. The LCHD is offering a Johnson and Johnson 1 shot walkin-clinic Friday April 9th from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. at it’s main office at 11362 Country Club Road west of Lawrenceville on US Highway 50. No appointments are required for those 18 and older. There will be 150 doses available. Monday April 12th, the LCHD will host a Johnson and Johnson 1 shot and Moderna vaccination clinic at the main office from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday all ages will be eligible for vaccination in Illinois.
