The state of Illinois is offering a detailed guide to help local and area school districts decide how to spend $7 billion in federal COVID-19 relief funding.  The 180 page resource guide offers suggestions on how the districts can use the money to help students struggling during the pandemic such as additional tutoring and counseling and pre and after school learning enhancement programs. The local school districts can use those ideas or some of their own to offer academic and other assistance. According to the Illinois State Board of Education, Lawrence Unit 20 is to get around $5.8 million and Red Hill Unit 10 $2.9 million in money for their use.
