As the weather gets warmer, more motorcycles will be hitting the roadways. Lawrence County and other area residents are asked by the Illinois Department of Transportation to be on the lookout and think motorcycle safety. Drivers should be aware of motorcycles while traveling and give them plenty of room. Those riding motorcycles should have their bikes safety-checked and always wear personal protective gear on every ride such as eye protection, gloves, jackets and high visibility clothing, plus a U.S. DOT approved helmet. And remember to never drink and ride.
