Illinois State Police have confirmed that a male fugitive from southeastern Illinois has been captured. Alexander McWilliam of Harrisburg was taken into custody Tuesday by authorities in Morganfield Kentucky. He was discovered at a motel there and barricaded himself in a room for approximately 2.5 hours before being surrendering without incident. He was wanted in connection with the March 13th 2021 shooting death of Mishealia Meridith in Harrisburg. McWilliam is being held in the Webster County Ky Jail awaiting extradition to Saline County Illinois on a charge of First Degree Murder.
