Vincennes University has received a $100,000 grant from Caterpillar Foundation for use in upgrading its industrial automation equipment in it’s Advanced Internship in Manufacturing (AIM) program. The upgrades will occur at the program labratories in Lafayette Indiana and exposed the VU students to leading edge technology including the use of collabrative robots or cobots. Cobots work alongside humans and increase safety and production in the workplace. There is a tremendous demand for automation technicians who maintain and repair intricate manufacturing systems.  The AIM program invests in the skills people need for the modern workforce.
