The Lawrence County Board held a public hearing Wednesday after their regular session at the county courthouse on the over $400,000 Community Development Block Grant obtained for water system improvements for the Petrolia Water District. The grant application was sponsored by Lawrence County. It is anticipated that the county will now look to obtain grant funding for needed courthouse repairs in the future. The board did approve the appointment of Craig O’Dell to the Lawrence-Allison Fire District Board of Trustees and 2 engineering services agreements with Charleston Engineering for bridge replacement projects. A 2 year agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police was also agreed to upon recommendation of the board bargaining committee and attorneys for both sides.
