The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,655 new and probable cases of coronavirus across the state Wednesday with 17 new deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department says that there were 3 new positive cases Wednesday, bringing the county total to 2,409. 30 cases are active with no hospitalizations and 2.345 people have recovered from the disease with no new deaths. Knox County Indiana reported only 1 new case Wednesday with the county total now at 3,587 with no new deaths. Since the pandemic began, there have been a total of 1,213,765 cases with 20,998 deaths. Over 4.2 million vaccines had been administered across the state as of Wednesday with over 100,000 doses given out . Governor J.B Pritzger at a news conference Wednesday did indicate that he will be announcing a slow stage reopening plan for the state in the next few days. The IDPH reports that more than 20% of Illinoisians 16 and over and over 58% of the state’s senior citizens have been vaccinated.
