The Paris Tigers withstood a furious fourth quarter rally by the Lawrenceville Basketball Indians Friday night and escaped with a 52-49 win to spoil Senior Night at LHS. The Tigers led 44-31 entering the final stanza but the Tribe put on full court pressure which resulted in turnovers leading to baskets that enabled them to eventually take a brief 1 point lead late in the game, but the Tigers made some key free throws and defensive plays down the stretch to prevail at the end. The 5-8 Tigers were led by Jude Sullivan with 18 points. Leyton Ivers came off the bench to lead the 3-9 Indians with 13 points while senior Hunter Scott added 12. In addition to Scott, seniors Ethan Kelly, Damon Zollars and Brayden Sherman were honored prior to the game. The loss snapped a 2 game Indian win streak and they ended Little Illini Conference play at 2-6. The Indian JV also lost 49-39 with Ryan Schultz scoring 14 and Landon Sanders 10.
