NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced Thursday that Miami Heat center and former Robinson Maroon standout Meyers Leonard has been fined $50,000 and suspended for 1 week for using an anti-Semitic term while playing a livestreamed video game. The Heat also announced that the 7 foot Leonard would be away from the team indefinitely and required to participate in a cultural diversity program. Leonard has been sidelined for the season with a shoulder injury and has played only 3 games. He has since apologized.
