The Illinois Department of Public Health reports there were 5,276 new cases of coronavirus reported over the weekend Friday through Sunday with 140 additional deaths. The most recent Lawrence County Health Department figures show 2,329 cases with 49 active. There are no COVID-19 hospitalizations with 2,249 recoveries from the disease. The death toll is at 31. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 1,174,409 cases with 20,269 deaths across Illinois. As of Sunday, the IDPH says that there have been 2,151,952 people vaccinated in the state. Anyone who would like to help can contact the LCHD and Administrator Amy Marley. The Indiana State Health Department reported 3 cases of COVID-19 in Knox County Sunday bringing the total to 3,543. There were 2 deaths upping the total to 84.
