The Red Hill Unit 10 Board of Education met in regular session Thursday night and were updated by Superintendent Jakie Walker on the district dealing with school cancellations and other assorted things that accompanied the winter weather of the last two weeks. Walker had high praise for all involved for their efforts from administrators down to custodians. The board also approved a 4 year contract for Walker as superintendent and 4 year contracts with principals Tony Gaither at Bridgeport Grade School and Clarence Gross at Red Hill Junior/Senior High School. They also approved the Junior High Promotion date of May 25th at 6 p.m. and the High School Graduation date of May 16th at 2 p.m. The board did accept the approximately $19,000 estimate by Reliant Mechanical Systems for the Jr/Sr high school web-based control system project and approved the cancellation of the School Resource Officer agreement with the city of Bridgeport.
