The Illinois Department of Public Health Thursday reported 1,966 new cases of coronavirus across the state with 72 additional deaths. The latest Lawrence County Health Department figures show there were 7 new cases reported Thursday with 3 of those resulting from a local outbreak. That increased the county case total to 2,231 with 42 of those active. There are no COVID-19 hospitalizations and 2,249 people have recovered from the disease with the deaths remaining at 30. The Indiana State Department of Health reported Knox County with 2 new cases Thursday upping the county total to 3,529 with no new deaths. Overall since the pandemic began, the IDPH has reported 1,168,683 cases with 20,129 deaths. As of Thursday, there had been 1,977, 033 people vaccinated in Illinois with over 73,000 shots administered on that day.
