WINTER STORM WATCH ISSUED

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the entire WAKO listening area in southeastern Illinois and southwestern Indiana. It will go into effect late Sunday afternoon through late Monday night. Heavy snow is possible across the watch area with total accumulations from 3 to 5 inches. Higher amounts are possible south of Interstate 70. Roads are expected to become slippery and impact both the morning and evening commutes. Two primary snow periods are anticipated. The first from late Sunday through Monday morning and the second Monday evening through sunrise on Tuesday.
