The Bi-State Authority met Tuesday night at the Mid-American Air Center northeast of Lawrenceville and began to look at planning for a major event which is expected to draw large crowds to the airport. That is the eclipse of April 8th of 2024. It is anticipated that the airport location will be a prime spot for viewing. Airport manager Kurt Schwartz also indicated that efforts are continuing to lure another oil-related business-Snelson Pipeline-to the airport but are currently on standby until March. The Authority did approve the purchase of a new Bob Cat for around $42,000.
