The Illinois Department of Public Health reports there were 1,747 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus across the state Monday with 35 more deaths. One of those deaths occuring in neighboring Richland County with a female in her 60s succumbing to the disease. The latest Lawrence County Health Department figures indicate there were 11 new cases reported Monday with 4 of those related to an area outbreak. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 1,148,088 cases of the disease with 19,688 deaths statewide. The Indiana State Department of Health reported only 2 new cases in Knox County Monday bringing the overall total there to 3,493 cases. A total of 1,358, 967 vaccinations have now been administered here in Illinois with over 16,000 done Monday. The Good Samaritan Hospital vaccination clinic Monday administered it’s 10,000 dose of the Pfizer vaccine. The recipient was 74 year old Joe Hale of Sullivan Indiana who was there to get his initial dose.
