2 LOCAL MEN INJURED IN CLAY COUNTY ILLINOIS

Illinois State Police report that 2 Lawrence County men were injured in a two vehicle weather-related accident late Monday night near Xenia in Clay County Illinois. Around 10:10 p.m. a 2004 GMC Box Truck being driven by 34 year old Romano Ruslan of Orlando Florida was headed west on Route 50 near the Old Route 50 intersection when he lost control in heavy snow. The truck crossed into the westbound lanes and sideswiped a 2012 Chevrolet Truck whose driver was 48 year old Robert Hale of Lawrenceville. Both drivers and a passenger with Hale-18 year old Alex Carrell also of Lawrenceville were hurt and taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Authorities investigating the mishap ticketed Ruslan for Driving Too Fast for Conditions, Improper Lane Usage and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol.
