The National Weather Services reports that scattered snow showers are expected to develop Monday across the region and linger through the evening before tapering off to flurries or possible freezing drizzle overnight. Locations south of Interstate 70 in southeastern Illinois and southwestern Indiana could see an inch or two of additional snowfall. If traveling, motorists are asked to drive carefully. The NWS also says that the very cold weather across the area will be around for the remainder of this week with daily chances of light accumulating snow.
