The Illinois Department of Public Health Monday reported 2,312 new and probable cases of coronavirus across the state with 16 additional deaths. The latest Lawrence County Health Department figures show 12 new cases Monday bringing the total number to 2,281. 160 cases are active and there are no hospitalizations. 2,902 people have recovered and the death toll remains at 29. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 1,212,613 cases and 19,259 deaths statewide. The IDPH reports that there have now been over 996,410 vaccinations given across the state. There was a record set Saturday in Illinois with over 36,850 vaccinations occuring that day. The Indiana State Health Department reports only 2 new cases of COVID-19 in Knox County Monday bringing the case total to 3,442. The deaths remained stationary at 39.
