The National Weather Services has issued a Flood Warning for the Embarras River at Lawrenceville from Monday through Wednesday. The river Monday was at 27.5 feet and rising. It is still below the 30 foot flood stage. The river is on the rise due to heavy snow and rain over the weekend in the upper Embarras River Basin starting to make its way downstream. The Embarras is expected to rise to near 32 feet Tuesday before cresting and beginning to fall. No extensive flooding is forecast.
