The Illinois Department of Public Health Wednesday reported 3,571 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus across the state with 81 deaths. The latest Lawrence County Health Department figures show 2,269 positive cases with 148 active. 1 person is hospitalized while 2, 902 people have recovered and the death count is stationary at 29. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 1,112,181 cases statewide with 18,964 deaths. There were 53,628 vaccinations Wednesday with the statewide total now at 773,623. The LCHD has an instructional video now available on their Facebook page offering information on what to expect for those making appointments for the upcoming Mass Vaccination Clinic at Lawrenceville High School Saturday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Meanwhile Governor J.B. Pritzger indicated that the federal government is ramping up shipments of the COVID-19 vaccine to Illinois in the coming weeks.
