The Illinois Department of Public Health has announced there were 2,994 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus across the state Monday with 49 additional deaths. The latest Lawrence County Health Department figures show there were 5 cases reported Monday with the total now at 2,260 cases locally. 140 cases are active with 2 hospitalizations. 2,092 people have recovered and the death toll is at 28. The IDPH reports there have now been a total of over 692,700 people vaccinated across the state with just over 11,200 shots administered Monday. The LCHD has scheduled a Mass COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic for Saturday January 30th at Lawrenceville High School from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Appointments can be made for local residents and workers in the 1-B category-those age 65 and older plus frontline workers such as first responders, educators, postal workers among others.
