The Illinois Department of Public Health Wednesday reported 4,882 new and probable cases of coronavirus across the state with 107 additional deaths. One of those reported in neighboring Richland County. The latest Lawrence County Health Department figures show 8 new cases reported Wednesday bringing the county total to 2,244. 126 of those are active with 2 people remaining hospitalized. 2,092 people have made recoveries while the death toll remains at 26. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 1, 081,354 cases and 18,398 deaths statewide. 29,008 people were vaccinated in Illinois Wednesday with the statewide total 537,740. The LCHD is continuing to contact and schedule Lawrence County citizens for COVID-19 vaccination clinics. A registration link is available on the LCHD website for those in Phases 1-A or 1-B.
