The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 6,652 confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus across the state Thursday with 88 more deaths. That brings the overall total of cases to 1,052,662  and deaths to 17,928 since the pandemic began. The Lawrence County Health Department reported 5 new cases bringing the county total to 2,198 positive with 87 active. 2 people are currently hospitalized while 2.085 have recovered. The death total remains at 26. The LCHD has announced it is working to alleviate an error in the online registration process for COVID-19 vaccinations. Those who have registered through the IDPH portal for an appointment with the LCHD to be vaccinated, those are no longer available. Currently, the vaccine is only available to healthcare personnel identified in Phase 1-A. All clinics are currently closed to the public. The LCHD is working to schedule vaccination clinics that will be open to the public in the near future. Those clinics will be open only to individuals who work and reside in Lawrence County. Information regarding those vaccination clinics will be publicized when it becomes available.
