THREE LOCAL LEGISLATORS SWORN IN

The new 102nd Illinois General Assembly was sworn into office Wednesday in Springfield. Three local legislators took their oath during the ceremonies. Republican Darren Bailey became the new 55th District State Senator replacing Dale Righter. He had previously served as 109th District State Representative. Bailey announced he will retain a district office in Louisville and also take over Righter’s district office in Mattoon. Teutopolis native Republican Adam Niemerg was sworn in as new 109th District State Representative replacing Bailey. He will have a district office in Teutopolis.  The 109th does include most of Lawrence County. Republican Chris Miller was also sworn in to a second term as 110th District State Representative and will maintain constituent offices in Robinson and Springfield. A part of Lawrence County is in the 110th District.
