109th District Republican State Representative Darren Bailey has been released from the hospital. In a Facebook post Tuesday morning, Bailey indicated that he left Memorial Hospital in Springfield Monday night. He was admitted there and kept for observation and testing after suffering a fainting spell Sunday during the lame duck legislative session. Bailey did say he and his wife had been fasting and eating one meal a day since January 1st and that contributed to the episode. All tests came back negative and Bailey says he is ready to return to resuming his elected duties.  Bailey will sworn in as the new 55th District State Senator Wednesday when the new legislature is seated in ceremonies in Springfield.  Teutopolis native Adam Niemerg will replace Bailey as state representative and will also be sworn in Wednesday after winning election in November.
