Danial Lee Chitwood

Danial Lee Chitwood, age 72, of Sumner, Illinois passed away on Saturday, January 02, 2021 at his residence. He was born on April 07, 1948 in Salem, Missouri, the son of Irvin and Goldie (Woods) Chitwood. He remarried Wanda Earnest in June of 2010, and she survives.

Dan worked for Silgan Plastics in Flora, Illinois. He was a member of the White House Christian Church. His hobbies included baking, woodworking, word searches, fishing, playing with his grandchildren, driving Wanda crazy at times, visiting with his family and friends, as well as playing with his dogs.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Amy Danielle Chitwood; one brother, Eugene Chitwood; and two sisters, Barbara Earnst and Sharon Earnst.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda of Sumner, Illinois; three children, Daniel Chitwood and wife, Amber of Louisville, Illinois, Wendy James and husband, Scott of Sweet Springs, Missouri, and Susan Magnan and Bob of Bridgeport, Illinois; one adopted son, Thomas Earnest of Seattle, Washington; one brother, Thurman Chitwood and wife, Jean of Cisne, Illinois; four sisters, Glenna Christy and husband, Jim of Marshall, Illinois, Dolly Propes and husband, Ed of Olney, Illinois, Sandy Smith and husband, Joe of St. Francisville, Illinois, and Kathy Foshee of Friendsville, Illinois; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five dogs, Chuck, Rio, Blondie, Roxie, and Rosie.
