The Wabash County States Attorneys office has announced that 22 year old Brendan Schell has been sentenced to prison after a guilty plea for Class 2 Illinois Felony Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. Schell who is from Mt Carmel was arrested by city police in November after investigation into an abuse allegation in November of 2020. He has been incarcerated in the Wabash County Jail since then. He was also being held on a Department of Corrections Parole Violation warrant. In addition to the prison term, Schell will be on two years of mandatory supervised release.
