Bad ecomonic news for the region. Family Video stores will be closing all locations across the country including in Illinois and Indiana. According to parent company Highland Ventures LTD, all stores have begun liquidation sales-selling movies, video games and store fixtures. Each store will officially close once all their inventory is sold. The chain has been struggling the last few years with COVID-19 restrictions limiting in-person traffic at stores and other digital movie platforms becoming available such as Netflix. Last year, over 200 stores closed in the fall. There are 250 remaining locations including in Vincennes, Olney, Mt Carmel, Olney and Fairfield in this area.
