The 2020 Illinois corn and soybean harvests ended on a high note. Officials with the Illinois Soybean Association are reporting that the 2020 yields for both crops exceeded U.S. Department of Agriculture projections. The USDA had predicted a yield of 49 bushels per acre with the harvest coming in at 58 bushels per acre. The Illinois corn harvest was up 10% over 2019 yields. The good numbers were attributed to more precision farming and hard work in the fields.
