The Illinois Department of Public Health Tuesday reported 6,239 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus across the state with 116 additional deaths. 2 of those deaths occuring in neighboring Richland County- a male in his 70s and a female over 100. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 911,308 cases and 15,414 deaths. The latest Lawrence County figures show 1,742 positive cases with 338 active. 2 people remain in the hospital and the death toll remains at 22. The Indiana State Health Department reports that there were only 6 new COVID-19 cases in Knox County Tuesday bringing the case total there to 2,730 with the death count stationary at 35. The Illinois Department of Health is reporting that there have now been more than 63,000 frontline healthcare workers across the state vaccinated in the first phase of the Illinois vaccine rollout.
