Nina Muriel Rich, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at her daughter’s residence. She was born on December 14, 1923 in Knobel, Arkansas, the daughter of Henry Edwin and Delcie (Bowers) Robb. She married Richard L. ‘Tubby’ Rich on June 02, 1945. Tubby and Nina lived in Birds, Illinois for many years, where they raised their children. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2001.

Nina was a homemaker, and previously worked as a cook for the Birds Grade School. She was a past member of the Birds EUB Church and a present member of the Birds Free Methodist Church, but also attended local churches in the area. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, cooking, baking, traveling, listening to music, as well as playing Hand and Foot and Dirty Marbles with family and friends. She always had a big heart for children.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; one sister, Henrietta West; one brother, Oran K. Robb; one aunt, Bess Curry; one cousin, Jenny Hancock; one great-grandson, Wyatt Laakman.

Survivors include her four children, Nancy Hoke and husband, Kenny of Russellville, Illinois, Kay Senters and husband, Rick of Frost Proof, Florida, Darla Castner of Frost Proof, Florida, and John Rich and wife, Helen of Newton, Illinois; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Private services will be conducted for the family. Burial will be in the Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Oblong Children’s Christian Home, Russellville Community Church, or Birds Free Methodist Church.
