The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 8,828 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus Thursday with 181 deaths statewide. Since the pandemic began, there have been 879,428 cases of the disease with 14,835 deaths overall in Illinois. The latest Lawrence County Health Department figures indicate there have been 1,570 positive cases with 168 active. 2 people are currently hospitalized while 1,382 people have recovered. There have been 20 COVID-19 related deaths. The Indiana State Health Department reports Knox County with 37 new cases Thursday bring the total there to 2,628. The county remains at 34 deaths. Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes is a primary vaccination location in southwestern Indiana and began vaccinations of healthcare workers and personnel Thursday and will continue Friday and in the days ahead.
