Retiring 15th District Republican Congressman John Shimkus entered a statement into the permanent Congressional Record in Washington D.C. remembering the life of Roscoe Cunningham, who passed away last month calling him “a true agent of change and betterment for Lawrence County.” Lawrence County is in the 15th District. The statement went on to say that Cunningham was a strong community leader who dedicated his life to improving Lawrence County and was one of the county’s most vocal advocates and the county will miss him, but he left a lasting legacy.
