The Illinois High School Association Board of Directors met Monday for it’s regularly scheduled December meeting and emerged to announce and reiterate that a timeline on sports schedules for the remainder of the school year will be forthcoming following discussions with state officials. The Board says it plans to meet with representatives of the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Governor prior to January to work on a plan for the resumption of winter sports. Following that meeting, there will be a special session to finalize scheduling for the winter, spring and summer seasons. IHSA Executive Director Craig Anderson emphasized that there have been no cancellations of any sports or any discussions in that direction. They did approve the allowance of contact days for out-of-season IHSA sports in 2021 as soon as the Tier Three mitigations are lifted by the state.
