Bonny Lanore (Schemerhorn) Houchin, age 45 of Petrolia, passed away early Sunday morning, December 13, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. She was born in Lawrenceville to Tony Bruce Schemerhorn and his wife Ethel A. (Shoulders) Schemerhorn.
She married Allen Houchin, and he survives.
Bonny graduated from Red Hill in 1993. She was the “light” in any room. She loved to smile and have a good time. Her family was her true love. She enjoyed kayaking and taking sunset drives. Bonny worked at Sip It, and her friends there meant the world to her.
Surviving family includes: her husband- Allen Houchin of Petrolia: three children- Levi Drummond and wife Clarissa of Bridgeport, Sydney Griffin and fiancé Dennis Ramsook of Terre Haute, IN, and Kohl Houchin of Petrolia: two sisters- Tracie Lear of Lexington, KY and Barbara Houchin and husband Dewayne of Bridgeport: three grandchildren- Neela Drummond, Knox Drummond, and Elena Ramsook: several nieces and nephews: and so so many friends including her Sip It friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and one brother, David Anthony Schemerhorn.
No formal services are planned at this time. Cunningham Funeral Home is assisting the family.
