The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 28,011 new cases of coronavirus across the state over the weekend from Friday through Sunday with 425 additional deaths. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 787,573 cases and 13,255 deaths total across the state. The Illinois Department of Public Health indicates that there are now 1,259 positive cases of the disease in Lawrence County with 14 related deaths. In a related note, Knox County Indiana reported 33 new cases Sunday bringing it’s total to 2,254. There were also 3 new COVID-19 related deaths bringing the death toll to 27.
