VINCENNES MAN FACING MULTIPLE CHARGES

Vincennes Police say a Vincennes man is facing multiple charges after stealing a vehicle and attempting to escape. Nicholas Anthis reportedly took a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Monday. It was discovered by police traveling on Willow Street and was pursued to 12th and Broadway where Anthis abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. He attempted to elude authorities by breaking into a residence and hiding but was captured inside. Anthis has been charged with Vehicle Theft, Burglary, Reckless Driving, two counts of Resisting Law Enforcement, Residential Entry, Criminal Mischief and Possession of both Methamphetamine and a Legend Drug. It was also discovered that he was wanted on 3 outstanding warrants. Anthis was taken to the Knox County Jail and was being held without bond.
