The Illinois Department of Public Health announced that there were 34,915 new and probable cases of coronavirus disease across the state this past weekend-Friday through Sunday with 328 additional deaths. Since the pandemic began, there have been 656,298 cases and 11,506 deaths total in Illinois. The Lawrence County Health Department recieved notification of 18 county residents who tested positive Saturday. 4 of the cases were associated with multiple outbreaks within Lawrence County. All individuals are currently under home quarantine with contact tracing underway. The most recent numbers indicate there have been 840 positive cases in Lawrence County with 358 of those active. 3 people are currently hospitalized while 472 people have recovered. There have been 10 COVID-19 deaths. The Indiana State Department of Health reports 61 new cases of the disease in Knox County Sunday bringing the county total to 1,707 cases. There was also an additional death bringing the total up to 15.
