MORE COVID-19 IN LAWRENCE COUNTY

The Illinois Department of Public Health has reported 8,922 new and probable cases of coronavirus across the state Wednesday with 140 more deaths. Overall there have been 606,771 cases of the disease statewide with 11,014 deaths since the pandemic began. The Lawrence County Health Department Wednesday was notified of 41 county residents who tested positive for the virus. They are under home quarantine with contact tracing underway. That brings the Lawrence County case total to 719 positives with 237 of those active. 2 people are currently hospitalized and 472 have recovered. There have been 10 COVID-19 deaths. LCHD Administrator Amy Marley is urging county residents to continue to follow mitigations to help stop the high positivity rates locally-washing hands and surfaces frequently, social distancing 6 feet or more and wearing a mask or face covering, especially with the holidays upcoming.
