The Bridgeport City Council met Tuesday night virtually via Skype and did approve an ordinance for a 30 year water purchase agreement with the city of Sumner to provide water to the Lawrence County Correctional Center. Water sale prices will be reevaluated and renegotiated every 5 years. The council did briefly discuss a preliminary proposal for an emergency water connection with South Lawrence Water Corporation but took no action and will investigate the matter further in the future. Also approved was the annual Tax Levy ordinance.
